Description Restom Blackpot 8830 is a paint for steel mufflers / exhaust systems. This new formula offers coverage of 2m² in a single coat, with a high-quality satin finish. It is ideal for applications subjected to high temperatures. Resistant up to 400°C, the Blackpot aerosol is easy to apply, whether for repainting a complete exhaust muffler or for performing touch-ups. It is important to note that this paint is specifically designed for steel tubing after cast iron manifold and is not suitable for stainless steel mufflers. Application: The application of Blackpot 8830 must be done on a perfectly degreased surface (with Restom Motornet 2010 - reference 5840S) and derusted (Restom PAC 2030 - reference 5840U) or sandblasted. This preparatory step is essential to guarantee an impeccable and durable finish. The paint can be applied by brush as is or by spray gun with Restom Thinner 5020, and it must be applied in 2 coats. It is important to note that this paint should not be applied over a primer but directly onto the steel. Curing the paint is a crucial step to obtain its final properties. It can be done by starting the vehicle several times while stationary until reaching idle operating temperature, then waiting another 15 minutes. This curing can be performed several weeks, or even months, after painting.
